Elounda village square to Plaka ~ Spinalonga Island Plaka
Last year in Elounda Crete, we had a new service trundling up and down between Elounda Square and Plaka... a lovely red Happy Train...
a couple of weeks ago, a gleeming blue Fun Train turned up and parked outside the large church in the Square.
Today, Elounda has two trains, one red, one blue, one Fun, one Happy... both friends!
Both are very popular and trundle up and down between Elounda village square and Spinalonga Plaka all day and are kept quite busy, both have very enthusiastic drivers who look like they're really enjoying their job and are great friends!
Train tourism is very popular with holidaymakers and both trains are usually quite full of kids of all sizes!
The Red Train driver is also so much fun, that he rents out his train for birthday rides, including balloons, much honking on the horn and waving to friends in the village square of Elounda
The train drivers hoot their horns and give huge happy waves as they pass by the friends they've made along the route to Spinalonga Island.
Treat yourself to a trip along a scenic road down to Plaka village to view Spinalonga Island and back into Elounda square, it's well worth the money and very enjoyable.
